Re: Hello from another in S/W Ohio

Al ..I bought this tractor from my grandfathers brother..my grandfather bought it new..back in 53... and farmed with it in tenn...He sold it to me for $1000... and said it was still in the barn..when i went for it i could tell the barn had'nt had a roof for a lot of years...it was stuck...engine was stuck..brakes were stuck... so i rebuilt it.took lots of grease..bought those new disc plows through JD...$109+ ea....disc plows are kinda rare....

I don't think so. However, that's one question you don't want your Little Woman answering.

Hey ..Muleman.. I think DiscPlows were used ..more commen in southern states..more sandy soil.. I took it to our local plow days..here in ohio and spent most of the day adjusting it..to much clay?...but did get the plows to cut..and had to run in 3rd. gear to keep it from falling back in the furrow.. Hopefully here's some pics. of unloading it..and acouple after useing it daily for a few years.... http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...%20Deere%2040/ ...B,
