Joplin

It's hard to imagine the devastation of Joplin and what has happened there. I don't know anyone affected first hand, but my gf does. A good friend of hers has his home destroyed. He and his dog are safe though. My thoughts and prayers are out there with the city of Joplin and all those affected.

Re: Joplin

A friend of mine had his house destroyed, but fortunately no one in his family was hurt. Not true for entirely too many there.

I think right now it ranks second worst.... terrible for sure and we are all sitting in a system that can do it all again today.... Joplin could get slammed again this week.

I beleive it may be , but by comparison to the towns population the Udall tornado may 25th 1955 I beleive is rated the worst at least in KS . They lost 20% of the population . I was only 6 at the time but I'll never forget seeing the devastation when My folks drove there to see if they could be of any help . Story at the link . http://www.kshs.org/kansapedia/udall-tornado/12225

What made me think of it is we are under a very severe tornado warning for the next 24 hours and May 25th stuck in my mind for some reason .
