Steuben County woes

Well in typical NY fashion our town and county taxes have come out with increases again. 2.8% for county and 4.5 % for the town. At the rate they are going up I may as well deed the damn farm to them!

Re: Steuben County woes

I was born and raised in NY. Once I became an adult and homeowner, I became all to aware of the taxes. I moved out of the state and never looked back. I still visit, but won't ever move back. Actually, when I visit, I fill my fuel tank just before entering the state so I have enough to do my business and get back out of the state before needing more fuel.

Went to the school board meeting the other night. They have scheduled a vote on another $480,000 in special appropriation to be paid by special assessment. This is in addition to the 11 million they just spent redoing the high school. Time for folks to say NO to this crazy spending.

Re: Steuben County woes

The town just issued their estimate of the 2 major storm events this spring. $123,000 for road and drain repairs beyond the normal roadwork. Will probably levy a special add-on tax to pay for it. The county has not totaled their costs yet but did announce that some scheduled road work would be postponed.

Re: Steuben County woes

Maybe, you could help Mulie pay his taxes. You could claim part ownership in his place so you will have properties there too!

Re: Steuben County woes

I believe that New York state was listed as the state in the country that was the most totalitarian and of the reasons was the taxation.
